If you happend to tune into 1380 ESPN (The local St. Louis show “The Morning After with Tim McKernan, Jimmy “The Cat” Hayes, and Doug Vaughn) today, you may have heard the discussion with ESPN Baseball Analyst Buster Olney. He spoke about Cardinal free agents, the GM search, and the prospect of Curt Schilling bringing his 41 year old arm to St. Louis. ESPN is reporting that Schilling has narrowed his list of potential teams he would play for to:
Boston Red Sox
St. Louis Cardinals
Los Angeles Angels
Philidelphia Phillies
Detroit Tigers
Los Angeles Dodgers
Chicago Cubs
Milwuakee Brewers
Arizona Diamondbacks
New York Mets
Atlanta Braves
San Deigo Padres
Cleveland Indians
Buster noted that Schilling in a Cardinal uniform in 2008 would be a “Good Fit” and this move would make sense as a patchwork signing in the abscence of Cardinal ace Chris Carpenter. Carpenter is expected to be out until at least the 2008 All-Star break.
