Its Official: Cardinals are willing to deal Scott Rolen

The St. Louis Post-Distpatch is reporting that Cardinals GM John Mozeliek met with Rolen’s agents last week at the winter meetings to discuss the possibility of a trade.

    It does sound like it’s more likely Rolen will be moved. And that’s a shame, in my book.

    Yes I agree, it is unfortunate for both parties involved. I still think Rolen could get back to at least 2006 form. Sounds like we’re going to have to deal with a salary dump instead of getting some good talent in return.

    Why dump Rolen when you have no suitable replacements? The post mentioned Mike Lamb…..if that’s there gameplan why not bring back Fernando Tatis, or Terry Pendleton for that matter…….if they trade Rolen and have to pick up more than 20% of his salary I say it’s a bad move in my eyes….but by all indications this is a real possibility…
